One Good Turn Deserves Another

Karma Dogs was started in the fall of 2006 when three friends came together and wanted to spread the
love of two special dogs.

Dirk is a 1 and a half year old hound mix who was surrendered to an animal rescue worker in New
Orleans during Hurricane Katrina. He made his way to Maryland, where he was quickly adopted by
Andrew and Kelly. He was a shy, but friendly pup, who was not quite sure what was happening. After a
few months of settling in, he blossomed into a wonderful, sweet, gentle dog who loves people and
other animals. He has an uncanny way of tuning into someone and lending unspoken support to anyone
who needs it. Check out Dirk's Diary of Becoming a Karma Dog here:

Shamrock was adopted in 2001 as a puppy from a local animal rescue. She is a lab mix with
understanding eyes and the patience of a Saint. Sham still bears some visible scars from a past life, but
she lives in the now. Shamrock is very obedient and can tolerate even the loudest dog, most annoying
puppy or playful child. After observing her with 3 very young and playful rescue pups, it is clear her
name should be St. Shamrock.

Tasha was adopted a year ago from Pet Rescue of Maryland. Tasha had been treated terribly by humans
she met in the past, but has moved on and forgotten those people who were not kind. Tasha is truly a
beautiful, sweet dog with a wise soul. We think being a Karma Dog helps Tasha as much as she will help
Karma Dogs. And that is what it is all about, isn't it? For more about Karma Dog's first big success, check

Kelly Gould is a television commercial producer who has always loved animals, especially dogs. After
rescuing three dogs and being a full time volunteer for Pet Rescue of Maryland, she realized that some
dogs were special and could make valuable contributions that would have life-changing affects on
others. Kelly has currently helped more than 200 dogs and cats find forever homes, including many
difficult dogs who would have otherwise been euthanized. She graduated from Temple University with
a degree in Radio/Television/Film and Sociology.

Bridget Trafton currently works for the Abilities Network and has worked in special education for the
last eleven years. Bridget graduated from the University of Maryland with a B.S. in Behavioral Science
and has a Master of Arts in Teaching in Special Education from Goucher. She is a Certified Instructor
for Nonviolent Crisis Intervention and will graduate from Towson State University in May with an M.S.
in Counseling Psychology.

Andrew Gould is a copywriter for an advertising agency. He also teaches Hebrew School and runs an
"Post B'nai Mitzvah" Program for children over the age of 13. Andrew has also taught a Chavurah
program and started a chapter of the "Magic Me" program at the University of Pennsylvania.
