Karma Dogs gives a big THANK YOU to Baltimore Reads for donating books for the HEARTS Program! Baltimore Reads is a non-profit organization that has been improving the quality of life for educationally disadvantaged adults and families. They believe that education is the key to economic and social empowerment. Through our programs, participants gain the necessary skills for self-sufficiency, employment, and life-long learning. You can learn more (or donate books) by visiting them on-line at www.baltimorereads.org Pet Rescue of MD will be showing a variety of dogs and cats this Saturday at the Timonium Petco between 2-6pm. All of their animals have been rescued from crisis situations and are fostered in homes where they can be assessed and get individual attention. If you are serious about getting a pet and successfully take the quiz on their website, then they can help you find the perfect dog or cat to join your family. Please know, they do a thorough application process and it can take weeks to be approved. This ensures that each pet finds the right forever home. The right pet is worth the wait. B.A.R.C.S., located at 301 Stockholm Street, near Ravens Stadium, adopts dogs and cats to families on the day you meet them, providing they have been spayed or neutered. You do have to take their 2pm adoption class before you can take the animal home, so please keep that in mind when planning your trip. BARCS is an animal shelter that makes a serious effort to euthanize as few animals as possible. However, because of irresponsible pet owners and those who do not spay and neuter, they are overwhelmed with adoptable animals. BARCS does do same day adoptions and you do not have to fill out an application. BARCS is the hardest working kill shelter in the area who does everything in their power to place as many dogs and cats as they can. Where other shelters with larger operating budgets fall short, BARCS does a fantastic job. Please consider adopting from BARCS, becoming a BARCS volunteer or donating a few dollars. |
