Volunteer with Karma Dogs

Saving Dogs. Serving People.

Volunteering with Karma Dogs is a simple way to help give back to your community- and
it's fun, too! And you don't have to have a Karma Dog to volunteer. If you would like to
volunteer without a dog, you will be doing things like helping kids pick out books,
scheduling appointments, walking dogs and helping promote Karma Dogs and it's
programs.

If you volunteer with your dog, you will assist your dog while kids read to him/her or help
carry out treatment plans with a therapist working with the developmentally disabled.
Your dog must meet our requirements and pass an obedience and temperament test. For
information on testing and requirements, please download the PDF's below. If you would
like to help, but don't have a dog, we still have many opportunities! We need people to
help ensure our programs run smoothly, help with fund raising and grants and data entry.

Most of our programs take place on the weekends or after business hours, but we are
hoping to be able to expand our programs based on volunteer availability. If you are
interested in becoming a Karma Team or just helping out, please download the PDF's
above or e-mail us at e valuations@karmadogs.org

Not sure if your dog will pass the test? Be sure to read over the test first. If your dog
doesn't pass the first time, don't be discouraged! Most dogs don't pass on their first try.
The most common reason for needing more work? Less than perfect leash skills, not
being friendly and confident around other dogs, being anxious in a new environment or
resisting a restraining hug.

Dog Evaluations take place every other first Monday of the month from 7-9pm
Dog Evaluations take place at St. Margarets Episcopal Church, located at
1834 Joppa Road in Towson.
